When choosing between the ASUS Vivobook 16X and the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15", consider the following: the ASUS Vivobook 16X offers superior performance with a more powerful processor and dedicated graphics, making it suitable for intensive tasks like engineering, 3D modeling, machine learning, and gaming. It also boasts a larger screen, but this results in increased weight, making it less portable than the Lenovo. The Lenovo IdeaPad offers decent performance for general use at a lower price point, with a lighter build for better portability. Battery life on the ASUS might not last as long as the Lenovo, which could be a downside if you're often on the move. Ultimately, if performance and larger screen size are your priority and you don't mind the extra weight and price, the ASUS Vivobook 16X is a strong choice. If you prefer something more affordable and portable for everyday tasks, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" might be the better option. Give Feedback

The ASUS Vivobook 16X is very good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is only fair.
The ASUS Vivobook 16X is superior for engineering and design tasks because it is equipped with a powerful Intel i7 processor and Nvidia RTX graphics, along with ample RAM and a high-quality screen that covers a wider color spectrum, which is critical for detailed visual work. In contrast, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" has an AMD Ryzen 7 processor with integrated Vega graphics and less RAM, making it less capable of handling demanding software typically used in engineering and design, although it is lighter and therefore more portable.

The ASUS Vivobook 16X has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
For general use, the ASUS Vivobook 16X offers a combination of high resolution and brightness, providing crisp and clear visuals, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 has lower resolution and brightness, making it less ideal for extensive reading or browsing. The Vivobook 16X's wider color gamut is beneficial for engineering and design work where color accuracy is pivotal, whereas the IdeaPad 1's more basic color rendering is serviceable but not optimal for professional color work. However, for 3D applications or gaming, the Vivobook 16X's lower refresh rate may not deliver as fluid motion as desired, which is a limitation that both laptops share due to the prioritization of features more critical for non-gaming tasks.

How the ASUS Vivobook 16X and the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" compare to other laptops
"I think the ASUS Vivobook 16X is fantastic. Great performance, decent battery life, good keyboard and trackpad, and a massive screen – just that the screen quality itself is kinda subpar. If you’re okay with the screen, then I think this is an okay laptop. However, I’d like to see a price drop."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is affordable and pretty efficient. At the end of the day, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 (15″, 2023) is one of the better affordable laptops money can buy right now. It has a decent performance, albeit coming from a CPU that is based on old architecture. Playing low-intensity games is possible but at low to medium settings. We are really happy with the cooling setup, but the main event here is the battery life. We got 9 hours of either Web browsing or video playback, which is a great result. Especially if you compare this device with the ASUS E410."
