The ASUS ROG Strix G17 offers high performance suitable for intensive gaming, with a powerful processor and advanced graphics card. It features a larger display and high refresh rates, ideal for immersive gaming and demanding engineering tasks. However, it is less portable due to its size and weight, and it typically costs more compared to the LG Ultra 16. The LG Ultra 16 is lighter and more portable, making it a great choice for general use and on-the-go productivity with decent battery life. It offers silent, fanless operation, but has less power for 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering software, and its integrated graphics are less suited for gaming. Choose the ASUS if performance is your priority and you don't mind the extra weight and cost; opt for the LG Ultra 16 if portability and a lower price point are more important. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix G17 is very good for gaming and AI, while the LG Ultra 16 is only fair.
The ASUS ROG Strix G17 excels in gaming and 3D because it boasts a high-end Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU and a screen with a very high refresh rate, making it suited for fast-paced visuals and rendering detailed graphics. In contrast, the LG Ultra 16's integrated AMD Ryzen 7 7730U Vega 8 graphics and a standard refresh rate screen make it less optimal for those tasks, despite being adequate for casual gaming and general use.

The ASUS ROG Strix G17 has a better screen than the LG Ultra 16 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
The ASUS ROG Strix G17 likely has a high-resolution display with impressive color accuracy, benefiting engineering and general tasks, but its lower refresh rate could detract from the smooth visuals sought after by gamers. The LG Ultra 16 may have an adequate resolution and panel quality for everyday tasks and some engineering applications, without excelling in the color accuracy that professionals need. Both laptops, with suboptimal refresh rates, fall short for gaming and 3D work, where fluid motion and quick screen updates are crucial for an immersive experience.

How the ASUS ROG Strix G17 and the LG Ultra 16 compare to other laptops
"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."
"Unlike the gram, the Ultra PC isn't designed to be as lightweight as possible. The 16-inch laptop is a whole 400 g (0.88 lb) heavier than its 16-inch gram counterpart partly because its chassis is not made of magnesium. Other than that, the Ultra PC seems like a copy of the gram – but with longer battery life, lower noise levels, and a clean, delicate look."
