The Dell G15 5520 offers better performance for 3D, machine learning, and engineering tasks, with a high-refresh-rate screen and dedicated graphics, making it suitable for intensive gaming and demanding software. However, it is heavier and has a shorter battery life, which impacts portability. Conversely, the LG Ultra 16 is lighter, has a longer battery life, and has a higher screen resolution with a different aspect ratio beneficial for productivity tasks. It sacrifices high-end GPU performance, making it less suitable for gaming or heavy graphical work, and its overall performance is lower than the Dell but is often less expensive. Consider the Dell if performance and gaming are priorities or the LG if portability and battery life are more important. Give Feedback

The Dell G15 5520 has a better screen than the LG Ultra 16 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
The Dell G15 5520 offers higher resolution and brighter display, making it a preferred choice for general use and work that requires attention to detail, such as engineering or design tasks; however, a lower refresh rate hampers its performance for fast-paced gaming and 3D applications. The LG Ultra 16 provides suitable clarity and brightness for everyday tasks and professional work that doesn't rely heavily on high color accuracy, but it too falls short for gaming and 3D content due to the same limitations on refresh rate. While neither laptop excels in areas requiring high refresh rates, they both service general and engineering users adequately, with a slight edge to the Dell for tasks demanding finer detail and vividness.

How the Dell G15 5520 and the LG Ultra 16 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."
"Unlike the gram, the Ultra PC isn't designed to be as lightweight as possible. The 16-inch laptop is a whole 400 g (0.88 lb) heavier than its 16-inch gram counterpart partly because its chassis is not made of magnesium. Other than that, the Ultra PC seems like a copy of the gram – but with longer battery life, lower noise levels, and a clean, delicate look."
