The ASUS ROG Strix G17 is a better fit for intensive tasks such as gaming, 3D rendering, and engineering, thanks to its high-end processor and advanced graphics card. The tradeoff is that it is heavier and has a shorter battery life. The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15", on the other hand, offers portability and a longer battery life, suitable for general use and lightweight applications, but it is less powerful, which limits its capability in demanding applications. Consider the ASUS if performance is key, and the Lenovo if you prioritize portability and battery life. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix G17 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
For general use, the ASUS ROG Strix G17's higher resolution and brightness offer a clear and vivid display, whereas the Lenovo IdeaPad 1's fair screen quality provides decent visuals but may lack the same clarity and brightness. In engineering and design, the ASUS excels with a wide color gamut, presenting accurate colors necessary for detailed work, while the Lenovo's color reproduction is adequate but less precise for professional color work. However, for gaming and 3D, the Lenovo and ASUS both fall short, as the ASUS's poor refresh rate can hinder smooth motion, and despite the Lenovo's manageable performance, it also lacks the high refresh rate crucial for immersive and responsive gaming experiences.

How the ASUS ROG Strix G17 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" compare to other laptops
"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is affordable and pretty efficient. At the end of the day, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 (15″, 2023) is one of the better affordable laptops money can buy right now. It has a decent performance, albeit coming from a CPU that is based on old architecture. Playing low-intensity games is possible but at low to medium settings. We are really happy with the cooling setup, but the main event here is the battery life. We got 9 hours of either Web browsing or video playback, which is a great result. Especially if you compare this device with the ASUS E410."
