The Acer Swift X has better portability and longer battery life, making it suitable for mobility and general use, with quality performance for engineering work, but not as high as the ASUS TUF Gaming F17. The ASUS, while heavier and with a shorter battery life, offers a larger screen and is more suited for intensive gaming and 3D tasks due to its superior graphics performance. If price is a factor, the ASUS is often less expensive, but it has less RAM than the Acer, which may affect multitasking and complex software operations. Choose the Acer for balanced work and mobility, or the ASUS if gaming and 3D performance are priorities. Give Feedback

The Acer Swift X (2022) and ASUS TUF Gaming F17 are both good for general use, though the Acer Swift X (2022) is somewhat better.
The Acer Swift X (2022) is better for general use due to its higher resolution IPS display, longer battery life, and better portability thanks to its lighter weight and smaller size, which are very important factors for everyday tasks. In contrast, the ASUS TUF Gaming F17, while having a larger screen and specialized gaming features, falls short in screen quality for non-gaming uses, has a heavier build, shorter battery life, and lacks the same level of portability that the Acer offers.

The Acer Swift X (2022) is good for engineering and design, while the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 is only fair.
The Acer Swift X (2022) is well-suited for engineering and design due to its potent Intel i7 processor, substantial 16GB of RAM, and dedicated Nvidia RTX 3050 graphics card, along with a high-quality IPS screen that provides wide color coverage and high brightness. Meanwhile, the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 also fits engineering and design needs with its robust Intel i5 processor and Nvidia RTX 3050 Ti GPU, but with a bigger, high-refresh-rate screen for smooth visuals, although it has half the RAM of the Acer at 8GB, which could limit performance on very memory-intensive tasks.

How the Acer Swift X (2022) and the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 compare to other laptops
"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
"One of the Asus TUF Gaming F17’s highlights is without a doubt its excellent gaming performance. The fact that Asus configured the RTX 3060 GPU for its specified maximum of 140 W is became immediately noticeable in our benchmarks. For a 17-inch notebook the F17 also offers a very long battery life, which makes it somewhat portable. On the flip side is the display. It may be saved by its good overall contrast ratio, but its overall brightness is simply too low, and its response times are too slow for a gaming device. The F17’s successor needs to improve upon this."
