If performance in 3D rendering, machine learning, or engineering is your focus and you don't mind a heavier device with shorter battery life, the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro is well-suited for those needs. Conversely, if you prioritize portability, longer battery life, and a lighter device for general use, the Acer Swift X is a better option, though with less performance capacity for intensive tasks. The Lenovo is a better fit for gaming due to superior graphics capabilities, whereas the Acer offers a balance of portability and enough power for less demanding applications. The price of the Lenovo is higher due to its advanced features. Give Feedback

The Lenovo Legion Pro 5 is very good for gaming and AI, while the Acer Swift X (2022) is only fair.
The Lenovo Legion Pro 5 outshines the Acer Swift X (2022) for gaming and 3D tasks primarily because it has a more powerful graphics card (Nvidia RTX 4070 vs. RTX 3050) and a higher screen refresh rate (165Hz vs. 60Hz), which provides smoother visuals and gameplay. Additionally, the Lenovo's larger screen and slightly better screen quality contribute to a more immersive gaming experience, whereas the Acer's CPU and screen quality are still adequate but not as optimized for high-end gaming as the Legion Pro 5.

The Lenovo Legion Pro 5 has a better screen than the Acer Swift X for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
For general use, the Acer Swift X offers a clear and bright display with sufficient resolution, but it doesn't match the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 in these regards, which provides an even more vibrant and sharper experience due to its superior panel quality. When it comes to engineering and design tasks, the Swift X delivers a range of colors that are adequate but not exceptional; meanwhile, the Legion Pro 5's display showcases a wider color spectrum, especially beneficial for precision work which relies on color accuracy like graphic design or video editing. However, both lack the high refresh rates desired for smooth visuals in 3D applications and gaming, leading to less fluent motion and rendering compared to laptops specifically built for these purposes.

How the Acer Swift X (2022) and the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 compare to other laptops
"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
"It doesn't quite match its Legion Pro 7i sibling as an Editors' Choice winner, but Lenovo's AMD-powered Legion Pro 5 Gen 8 is a stylish, well-built gaming laptop with solid performance at both 1080p and its sharper native resolution. It's cheaper than some comparably equipped machines and better than some similarly priced ones. That's a recipe for success, even without its frequent availability of discounts or sales. A brighter screen and longer battery life would be nice, but even as is the Legion Pro 5 earns a solid recommendation."
