The Acer Swift X (2023) is a better choice if you need a balance between performance and portability, with longer battery life for general use, and it's equipped with a backlit keyboard and a higher screen resolution. However, the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 is a better fit for intense gaming, with a larger screen and a faster refresh rate for smoother visuals, plus it has a stronger gaming-centric build and an RGB backlit keyboard. Both have similar storage and are priced in the lower midrange, but the Acer has double the RAM of the ASUS, which can be advantageous for multitasking and complex tasks. The final decision should be based on whether portability and battery life or gaming features and screen size are more important for your usage. Give Feedback

The Acer Swift X has a better screen than the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Acer Swift X features a panel with higher resolution and brightness, which makes it more suitable for general use by offering sharp and vibrant visuals for a variety of tasks. For engineering and design, its superior color gamut provides a wider range of colors, important for tasks requiring color accuracy. However, for gaming and 3D applications, the lower refresh rate limits its ability to render fast-moving images smoothly, making the ASUS TUF Gaming F17, with its higher refresh rate, a better option for those specific needs despite its lesser resolution and color fidelity.

How the Acer Swift X (2023) and the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 compare to other laptops
"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
"One of the Asus TUF Gaming F17’s highlights is without a doubt its excellent gaming performance. The fact that Asus configured the RTX 3060 GPU for its specified maximum of 140 W is became immediately noticeable in our benchmarks. For a 17-inch notebook the F17 also offers a very long battery life, which makes it somewhat portable. On the flip side is the display. It may be saved by its good overall contrast ratio, but its overall brightness is simply too low, and its response times are too slow for a gaming device. The F17’s successor needs to improve upon this."
