The Acer Swift 3 has a better screen than the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 for engineering and design, software development, and content creation, while the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 has a better screen for gaming and AI.
The Acer Swift 3's screen, with its high resolution and brightness, caters well to general tasks, providing crisp and vibrant display quality, but it falls short for gaming and 3D due to its lower refresh rate that makes fast-paced visuals less smooth. For engineering and design, while it offers good clarity, its color range may not cover the broad spectrums required for precise color work. On the other hand, the ASUS TUF Gaming F17, while offering an adequate display for everyday use and acceptable color gamut for some design tasks, doesn't provide the high refresh rate necessary for the optimal gaming and 3D experience that enthusiasts seek.

How the Acer Swift 3 and the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 compare to other laptops
"With the Swift 3, Acer delivers a 14-inch laptop with a sleek, slim metal chassis. The latter is of high quality and sturdy enough for everyday use, which is a real plus point among the 700-Euro (~$798) models. A new feature is Thunderbolt 4 in the Type-C format for peripherals or even displays (DisplayPort via Type-C). Unfortunately, a card reader is still missing, and the RAM is completely onboard, so there are no upgrade options here. Acer's 14-incher is affordable, yet it does everything most would want from a truly mobile laptop: Long battery life, a great display, quality, sufficient ports, light weight, and low noise and heat emissions."
"One of the Asus TUF Gaming F17’s highlights is without a doubt its excellent gaming performance. The fact that Asus configured the RTX 3060 GPU for its specified maximum of 140 W is became immediately noticeable in our benchmarks. For a 17-inch notebook the F17 also offers a very long battery life, which makes it somewhat portable. On the flip side is the display. It may be saved by its good overall contrast ratio, but its overall brightness is simply too low, and its response times are too slow for a gaming device. The F17’s successor needs to improve upon this."
