The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" offers a balance of price and features, suitable for general use, with a touch screen and longer battery life, making it fitting for everyday tasks and portability. In contrast, the Lenovo Legion Slim 5, while on the pricier side, provides superior performance for 3D rendering, machine learning, and gaming, with a higher screen refresh rate and advanced gaming aesthetics. It has a more powerful graphics card, which also benefits engineering applications, but it's heavier and might not last as long on a single battery charge as the IdeaPad. Choose the IdeaPad for a budget-friendly, versatile laptop, or the Legion if you need more power for specialized tasks and gaming. Give Feedback

The Lenovo Legion Slim 5 is good for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is only fair.
The Lenovo Legion Slim 5 offers better gaming and 3D performance due to its more powerful Nvidia RTX 4060 graphics and higher screen refresh rate of 144 Hz compared to the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" which has an integrated AMD Ryzen 7 5700U Vega 8 graphics and a lower refresh rate of 60 Hz. The Legion Slim 5 is better suited for fast-paced games and smoother visuals, while the IdeaPad 1 15" is adequate for less demanding gaming scenarios.

The Lenovo Legion Slim 5 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
For general use, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 offers sufficient resolution and brightness, but it may not impress with its basic panel technology, making it suitable for everyday tasks. In contrast, the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 provides a higher-quality display with better color accuracy and wider color gamuts, meeting the more demanding needs of professionals in engineering and design. However, for gaming and 3D applications, which prioritize high refresh rates for smoother visuals, both laptops may fall short, as they aren't specifically tailored for those activities that benefit from faster screen refresh capabilities.

How the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" and the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is affordable and pretty efficient. At the end of the day, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 (15″, 2023) is one of the better affordable laptops money can buy right now. It has a decent performance, albeit coming from a CPU that is based on old architecture. Playing low-intensity games is possible but at low to medium settings. We are really happy with the cooling setup, but the main event here is the battery life. We got 9 hours of either Web browsing or video playback, which is a great result. Especially if you compare this device with the ASUS E410."
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 5 Gen 8 acknowledges that a gaming laptop doesn’t have to be as thick as possible and can still ensure adequate cooling when the muscles need flexing. To this end, in the Slim 5 Gen 8, it finds a neat balance of refined, trimmed-down design that still lets its internals cruise (even above their max power ratings). Lenovo then added in some high-end build quality with an altogether excellent keyboard that’s useful for both work and play."
