The HP EliteBook 845 G9 is typically more expensive and targets business users, offering a smaller screen size for better portability, and higher performance for general usage. It excels in tasks like engineering and has a decent battery life. Conversely, the LG Ultra 16 is less expensive, has a larger screen with better battery life, and is lighter, but its performance for engineering tasks and general usage isn't as high as the HP's. Both lack a number pad but include a backlit keyboard, with the HP offering white backlighting. Neither is suitable for intensive gaming but can handle general use well. If budget is a concern and you prefer a larger screen and longer battery life, the LG could be the choice, while the HP suits business professionals needing higher performance for tasks like engineering. The HP EliteBook 845 G9 has a better screen than the LG Ultra 16 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The HP EliteBook 845 G9 offers higher resolution and brightness, resulting in sharper and clearer images for general tasks, as well as more accurate color representation essential for engineering and design work. However, its lower refresh rate makes it less suitable for 3D applications and gaming which require smoother motion. The LG Ultra 16, while providing decent resolution and adequate brightness for everyday use and professional design tasks, falls short for gaming and 3D content because of its limited refresh rate and less robust color accuracy.

How the HP EliteBook 845 G9 and the LG Ultra 16 compare to other laptops
"The high-end version of the HP EliteBook 845 G9 with a Ryzen 9 PRO 6950HS, 32GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD packs a lot of power, but is still quiet and cool enough to operate in noise-sensitive environments. Quiet, cool and drawing on a massive 40 watts from the APU at the same time, however, is not possible. The 14-incher only has a single-fan solution and it only just manages to keep an near unthrottled Ryzen 9 in check."
"Unlike the gram, the Ultra PC isn't designed to be as lightweight as possible. The 16-inch laptop is a whole 400 g (0.88 lb) heavier than its 16-inch gram counterpart partly because its chassis is not made of magnesium. Other than that, the Ultra PC seems like a copy of the gram – but with longer battery life, lower noise levels, and a clean, delicate look."
