The Gigabyte Aorus 5 comes with a premium price for its higher performance, suitable for intensive engineering, 3D rendering, and gaming, thanks to its powerful Intel CPU and Nvidia GPU, but is less portable with a lower battery life. In contrast, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 is much less expensive and offers better battery life and portability with a touchscreen, although it has less power for demanding tasks due to its AMD CPU and integrated graphics. The Gigabyte Aorus 5 is very good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is only fair.
The Gigabyte Aorus 5 is better suited for engineering and design use because it features a more powerful Intel i7-12700H processor, higher RAM capacity, and a superior Nvidia RTX 3070 GPU which enables better handling of computationally intensive tasks like 3D modeling and simulations. In contrast, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" has an AMD Ryzen 7 5700U processor with integrated graphics, which is more modest in comparison but offers a lighter body and longer battery life, making it more portable.

The Gigabyte Aorus 5 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
For general use, the Gigabyte Aorus 5 offers a sharper image and higher brightness compared to the Lenovo IdeaPad, leading to a more vibrant and clear display for everyday tasks. The Aorus 5's wider color gamut is beneficial for engineering and design work, providing more accurate color representation which is crucial for these fields. However, for gaming and 3D applications, the lower refresh rate of the Aorus 5's screen can make fast-paced visuals less smooth than desired, whereas screens with higher refresh rates would be more suitable for these uses.

How the Gigabyte Aorus 5 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" compare to other laptops
"The Gigabyte Aorus 5 SE4 is a capable mainstream gaming notebook that will run the latest PC games with aplomb. However, it's not your stereotypical flashy gaming PC. Gigabyte has added some interesting tweaks. For example, the webcam placement and its Microsoft Azure AI tool — to automatically switch between power modes — are unusual for this genre. But more importantly, the pricing is fairly competitive and reasonable."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is affordable and pretty efficient. At the end of the day, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 (15″, 2023) is one of the better affordable laptops money can buy right now. It has a decent performance, albeit coming from a CPU that is based on old architecture. Playing low-intensity games is possible but at low to medium settings. We are really happy with the cooling setup, but the main event here is the battery life. We got 9 hours of either Web browsing or video playback, which is a great result. Especially if you compare this device with the ASUS E410."
