The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 offers significantly higher performance, making it suitable for gaming, 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering tasks due to its powerful AMD processor and Nvidia graphics card. Meanwhile, the Gateway is much more budget-friendly and should handle basic tasks such as browsing and office applications. However, with less storage, RAM, and a simpler processor and GPU, it's not equipped for heavy tasks. The Lenovo also has a better battery, larger screen, and higher refresh rate, but it is heavier, which might affect portability. If your work or entertainment needs are intensive and you can invest more, the Lenovo is the better option; for lighter use and cost savings, consider the Gateway. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Allen Ngo | September 2021
"The Gateway Ultra Slim 14" is surprisingly quiet with long battery life. The inexpensive Gateway excels at maximizing performance per dollar with lots of RAM and storage, super-quiet fan, and a long battery life. It can even house up to two M.2 SSDs which we weren't expecting from such a cheap system. However, the iffy reliability of the keyboard and USB-C port on our test unit means users should double-check for these potential issues immediately after purchasing."

NotebookCheck

Benjamin Herzig | November 2022
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 is a slim Legion notebook that is just as excellent with Nvidia & Intel. However, the Legion Slim 7i slightly sullied by lacklustre battery life. You get a slim aluminium chassis, great input devices, decent port selection, fast high-quality WQXGA display and great performance. Supporting Thunderbolt 4 is one advantage of the Intel/Nvidia model tested in this review. Moreover, this variant has slightly higher CPU performance as well as better GPU performance in certain applications (e.g. CUDA-based apps). The Lenovo Legion S7i is thin, premium and performant – but less efficient than its AMD counterpart."
