The Gateway 14.1" is a budget-friendly choice with basic performance suitable for standard tasks like web browsing and office applications due to its Intel Celeron processor and limited storage. It is lighter and thus more portable. The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro, while more expensive, offers significantly better performance with its AMD Ryzen processor and dedicated Nvidia graphics, making it ideal for more demanding tasks such as 3D rendering, machine learning, engineering work, and light gaming. It also has a higher resolution and larger screen, better build quality, and a longer battery life, but it is slightly heavier which affects portability. It's well-suited for users needing more power and better display for professional or creative work. Give Feedback

The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro is only fair for gaming and AI, while the Gateway 14.1" is poor.
The Gateway 14.1" laptop's Intel UHD Graphics 600 notably lags behind the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro's Nvidia RTX 3050 in terms of gaming-worthy graphics processing, and the Gateway's standard 60Hz screen won't be as smooth in fast-paced visuals as the IdeaPad's 120Hz display. The IdeaPad also benefits from a more powerful AMD Ryzen CPU and a higher screen resolution, further enhancing the gaming and 3D experience over the Gateway.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro is good for engineering and design, while the Gateway 14.1" is poor.
The Gateway 14.1" laptop, with its basic Intel Celeron processor and Intel UHD Graphics, is less suited for engineering and design tasks that typically require more powerful components like the AMD Ryzen processor and Nvidia RTX GPU found in the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro, which offers superior performance. Additionally, the IdeaPad's higher RAM capacity, better screen resolution, and quality make it a more capable and appropriate choice for such intensive use cases.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro has a better screen than the Gateway 14.1" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the Gateway 14.1" provides adequate clarity and detail with a screen that is bright enough for comfortable viewing, but it falls short in exceptional crispness or color fidelity that the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro offers, making the latter a superior choice for both everyday tasks and more demanding visual work like engineering and design due to better color accuracy and range. Despite both having good resolution and panel types, neither laptop is ideal for gaming or 3D applications, as they lack high refresh rates, which are crucial for smooth motion and gameplay, a feature critical to these activities yet not prioritized in these models. The Lenovo, however, with its slightly better screen attributes, edges ahead in suitability for general use and professional applications, even if both are less than optimal for high frame rate-dependent tasks.

How the Gateway 14.1" and the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro compare to other laptops
"The Gateway Ultra Slim 14" is surprisingly quiet with long battery life. The inexpensive Gateway excels at maximizing performance per dollar with lots of RAM and storage, super-quiet fan, and a long battery life. It can even house up to two M.2 SSDs which we weren't expecting from such a cheap system. However, the iffy reliability of the keyboard and USB-C port on our test unit means users should double-check for these potential issues immediately after purchasing."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro turns out a successful all-rounder that, aside from 3D applications, always strikes a good or very good figure. This begins with the elegant metal case that isn't particularly light but fairly robust, giving a high-quality impression. The input devices are also better than those of many competitors. Both the keyboard and the touchpad are attractive and comfortable. In addition, the performance of the Ryzen 5 6600HS is easily able to keep up with the Intel competitors."
