If performance for gaming or intensive engineering tasks is a priority and a lower price is desirable, the Dell G15 5520 with its dedicated Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics card may be a better choice, although it is heavier, which affects portability. On the other hand, the LG Gram 17 offers a larger screen, higher resolution, more storage, and double the RAM for general use and tasks that benefit from a larger display and lighter design, albeit at a higher price point. The LG Gram's notably lighter weight makes it much more portable despite its larger screen size. Give Feedback

The Dell G15 5520 is good for gaming and AI, while the LG Gram 17 is only fair.
The Dell G15 5520 is equipped with an Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics card and a higher screen refresh rate, making it well-suited for gaming and 3D tasks that demand better graphics performance and smoother visuals. In contrast, the LG Gram 17, although lighter and with a larger screen, relies on the integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics, which may not perform as robustly in gaming and 3D applications compared to the dedicated GPU in the Dell.

The Dell G15 5520 has a better screen than the LG Gram 17 for gaming and AI, while the LG Gram 17 has a better screen for general use, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, both the Dell G15 5520 and the LG Gram 17 have screens with high resolution and brightness levels, offering sharp images and good visibility in various lighting conditions, but these specifications do not address the high refresh rates critical for gaming. In engineering and design, the ability to accurately represent colors is crucial, and both laptops provide a range of colors, meeting industry standards, but they lack the ultra-fast screen refresh rates necessary for smooth 3D rendering. Despite their excellent color accuracy and resolution, the screens on these laptops are not optimized for 3D applications or gaming, as they prioritize color over the fast refresh rates that enhance fluidity in high-motion scenes.

How the Dell G15 5520 and the LG Gram 17 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."
"The LG Gram 17 is a light office laptop with a large display and great battery life. The newest incarnation of the Gram 17 can be classified as a model update. LG uses the predecessor's compact, light magnesium case along with an identical port configuration (including 2x Thunderbolt 4) and keyboard. Changes can be found in the hardware. With the Gram 17 (2022), LG offers a light (approx. 1,350 g), mobile work device - and finally with a matte display."
