When selecting between the Dell G15 5520 and the Lenovo ThinkPad T14, consider that the Dell G15, often being less expensive, is typically aimed at gamers or users needing higher performance for tasks like video editing, with a bulkier build that may not be as easy to carry around. On the other hand, the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 is known for its durability and business-friendly features, generally offering a balance of performance and portability, making it suitable for professionals who need a reliable laptop for office tasks, but it usually comes at a higher price. Evaluate your priorities between performance for demanding tasks and the need for a portable, business-oriented machine to inform your decision. Give Feedback

The Dell G15 5520 has a better screen than the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 has a better screen for content creation, and software development.
The Dell G15 5520 and Lenovo ThinkPad T14 have panel types, resolutions, and brightness levels that provide clear and vivid visuals for general activities such as browsing and video streaming, satisfying the needs of most users for daily tasks. For engineering and design tasks, both laptops offer good screen quality due to their coverage of color gamuts like DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB, which are crucial for accurate color representation, though they aren't the best in class. However, for gaming and 3D animation, their refresh rates may not be high enough, resulting in less smooth motion and a disadvantage for fast-paced visuals compared to laptops designed specifically with higher refresh rates for gaming.

How the Dell G15 5520 and the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."
"We like a lot about this laptop. It has many ports, with the inclusion of RJ45-Ethernet as a defining feature. WWAN is upgradable for maximum flexibility and the ThinkPad has many security functions. Working with the ThinkPad input devices is a lot of fun, and Lenovo puts in a serviceable Low Power panel. The AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 7840U delivers a great performance and does not drain the battery fast. Fan noise and temperatures are nothing special, but also far away from bad. With the user replaceable keyboard, the ThinkPad T14 Gen 4 has a special feature rarely present on most modern laptops."
