For a balance of performance and value, the Dell G15 5520 is a solid choice, offering a capable Intel i7 processor and Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU that will handle most tasks well, including gaming and light engineering work. Its 165Hz refresh rate screen is great for fast-paced action, though the resolution is standard 1080p. It's also more affordable and has a number pad, which might be important if you do a lot of data entry. However, if you're looking for a laptop that's more future-proofed and can handle more demanding tasks, especially in engineering or gaming, the Lenovo Legion 5 16 with its newer i9-14900HX and RTX 4060 is superior. It has double the RAM, a higher resolution 16:10 display with a 240Hz refresh rate, and better color accuracy, making it suitable for more intensive work and play. It's pricier and lacks a number pad, but the performance gains are significant, especially for 3D rendering and machine learning tasks. The Legion 5 also has a longer battery life, which is a plus for portability. Give Feedback

How the Dell G15 5520 and the Lenovo Legion 5 16 (2024) compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."
