Since you are comparing the Dell G15 5520, which is usually more expensive, with the HP Stream 14", the main considerations will revolve around performance, usage, and budget. The Dell G15 5520 is a higher-end gaming laptop that offers superior performance, making it suitable for demanding tasks like gaming, 3D modeling, and video editing. It will have a faster processor, better graphics card, and more RAM, which means it can handle more intensive tasks but can be less portable and have a shorter battery life. On the other hand, the HP Stream 14" is a budget-friendly, portable laptop with longer battery life, ideal for basic tasks like web browsing, document editing, and media consumption; however, it may struggle with performance-intensive applications. If your priority is higher computing power and you use resource-heavy programs, investing in the Dell may be justified. If you prioritize affordability, portability, and sufficient performance for everyday tasks, the HP Stream may be the better choice. Give Feedback

Rtings

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."

PCMag

Zachary Cuevas | November 2021
"With half of the main system memory and a fraction of the storage that we recommend in any budget Windows laptop, the HP Stream 14 does not impress. Perhaps it doesn't need to, depending on your reference point. For the price, you're getting a functional laptop with Windows 10, which already places the HP Stream 14 above most Chromebooks on that merit alone. Still, in this price range, you can't do much worse, but you can do better. In fact, for just $100 more, you can grab the much superior budget option, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14."
