The ASUS Zenbook 14 is good for engineering and design, while the HP Stream 14" is poor.
The ASUS Zenbook 14 offers a robust Intel i5 processor, ample RAM, and a superior OLED screen with high resolution, which are crucial for the performance and visual precision needed in engineering and design, whereas the HP Stream 14's limited Intel Celeron processor, basic RAM, and lower-quality TN screen make it less suitable for such demanding tasks. Additionally, the ASUS’s more powerful integrated graphics enhance its capability for graphics-intensive work, a feature the HP's lesser graphics unit cannot match, although the HP Stream may be quieter and slightly more portable due to its simpler build and lower power components.

The ASUS Zenbook 14 has a better screen than the HP Stream 14" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS Zenbook 14 likely boasts a high-resolution display with vibrant colors and good brightness, which is ideal for general use and detailed engineering tasks where clarity and color accuracy are key. However, its screen may not have a high refresh rate, which is critical for smooth rendering in gaming and 3D applications. On the other hand, the HP Stream 14" likely has a lower resolution and dimmer display with limited color range, making it less suitable for any tasks where visual detail and accuracy are important.

How the ASUS Zenbook 14 and the HP Stream 14" compare to other laptops
"Users who travel frequently and are looking for a portable laptop are in the right place with the Asus ZenBook 14. The sleek case is extremely light (1.2 kg) and surprisingly thin (1.5 cm). Outdoor use is also enjoyable thanks to the bright Full HD display, which is something that can rarely be said about laptops with TN or IPS panels. The excellent battery life complements this as well. Longer trips are no problem with the ZenBook 14. Another plus point is the high-performance Ryzen 7 5700U, which often leaves the Intel competition in the dust thanks to its large number of cores."
"With half of the main system memory and a fraction of the storage that we recommend in any budget Windows laptop, the HP Stream 14 does not impress. Perhaps it doesn't need to, depending on your reference point. For the price, you're getting a functional laptop with Windows 10, which already places the HP Stream 14 above most Chromebooks on that merit alone. Still, in this price range, you can't do much worse, but you can do better. In fact, for just $100 more, you can grab the much superior budget option, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14."
