The Dell G15 5520 is somewhat less expensive than the HP Omen 17, making it more suitable for budget-conscious buyers. Its smaller screen size and lighter weight make it more portable, whereas the HP Omen 17's larger screen and higher weight are less travel-friendly. The HP Omen, however, offers superior graphics performance with a more powerful GPU, making it more appropriate for intensive 3D work, machine learning, and gaming. Additionally, the Omen has a longer battery life, better screen resolution, and a more vibrant display, which can be important for creative work or better gaming experience. Both have similar storage and RAM capabilities, but if performance and display quality outweigh cost and portability, the HP Omen 17 is the better choice. Give Feedback

The HP Omen 17 has a better screen than the Dell G15 5520 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and software development.
The Dell G15 5520's screen excels in general use and engineering design due to its high resolution and brightness, along with its adequate color range, ensuring sharp images and accurate color representation. The HP Omen 17, with similar attributes but enhanced color gamut coverage, offers vibrant and precise colors that are essential for detailed design work, making it a strong choice for both general use and engineering tasks. How the Dell G15 5520 and the HP Omen 17 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."
"The HP Omen 17 (2022) gaming laptop has a stylish case and hardware with lots of potential. The HP Omen 17 is a fairly unobtrusive gaming laptop. A material combination of plastic and metal gives the case a high stability and a quality surface feel. The unspectacular design is pleasing and is hardly indicative of the laptop's high performance potential. The Intel Core i7-12700H in particular is able to perform well once again. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is also strong in the gaming notebook. Demanding games run smoothly in Full HD resolution. The HP Omen 17 is a good gaming laptop that delivers partly excellent performance. But even at this performance level, cheaper alternatives are available."
