The Dell G15 5520 is a better fit for intensive tasks like gaming, engineering, and 3D/machine learning due to its strong graphics card and high-performance processor. The HP 15" Laptop, being less expensive, is more suitable for general use due to its modest processor and integrated graphics; it offers portability with its lighter weight. If battery life is important to you, you'll have to trade some power usage on the Dell for longer unplugged operation with the HP. Keep in mind that the Dell has a higher screen refresh rate which makes for smoother motion, a handy feature for gameplay and video viewing. Give Feedback

The Dell G15 5520 is good for general use, while the HP 15" Laptop is only fair.
The Dell G15 5520 is considered good for general use due to its higher performance CPU and GPU, more RAM, and better screen refresh rate, which may be more than necessary for just general use but provides a buffer for more demanding tasks. In comparison, the HP 15" Laptop has a more modest CPU and GPU, less RAM, and a lower screen refresh rate, making it fair for general use and better suited to lighter tasks, though it is lighter in weight and has a higher portability score which makes it easier to carry around.

The Dell G15 5520 has a better screen than the HP 15" Laptop for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
If you prioritize clear and sharp images for everyday tasks, the Dell G15 5520's screen offers high resolution and brightness, making it suitable for general use and detail-oriented work in engineering and design with good color reproduction. However, its lower refresh rate might be a disadvantage for gaming and 3D work, where fluid motion and fast response times are crucial. The HP 15" Laptop provides decent quality for daily activities and work, but its color range may not be as broad, and the limited refresh rate could hinder the gaming and 3D experience.

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."
"Chances are high that the HP 15 is one of the first laptops to pop up when you search for an inexpensive notebook. Indeed, its price tag is very tempting for many, and of course, this is the reason for its popularity. However, the HP 15" suffers from poor performance due to low power consumption. On the bright side, one of the good things about it is the port selection. On the inside, this includes two SODIMM slots for memory, an M.2 PCIe x4 slot for storage, and a SATA drive bay. However, the TN panel, and mediocre input devices are not ideal."
