The ASUS TUF Gaming F17 is often somewhat more expensive than the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro but offers a larger screen, a gaming laptop appearance, and is better suited for intensive gaming with its higher refresh rate display and hardware like the RTX 3050 Ti GPU. However, it is heavier and has a lower battery life compared to the IdeaPad 5 Pro. In contrast, the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro is a bit less expensive, has a higher resolution display with better color coverage, and superior battery life, making it more portable. It's equipped with an AMD Ryzen processor and RTX 3050 GPU, which are sufficient for general use and have a good balance for engineering tasks, but the TUF Gaming F17 may have a slight edge in raw performance for 3D and machine learning due to its more potent GPU. The IdeaPad also has double the RAM, improving multitasking capability. Consider how you value portability, battery life, screen quality, and the specific tasks you'll use the laptop for when making your decision. Give Feedback

The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro has a better screen than the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The ASUS TUF Gaming F17 provides adequate resolution and brightness suitable for everyday tasks, but its limited color gamut can affect precision required for engineering and design, and its lower refresh rate can impair the smoothness needed for high-end gaming and 3D experiences. The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro, on the other hand, offers sharp resolution and brightness while also covering a wider color gamut, enhancing accuracy for design tasks, although like the ASUS, its refresh rate isn't optimized for the demanding fast-paced visuals sought by gamers and 3D professionals. For both laptops, the shortfall in refresh rate is what mainly hinders their capability to provide the best experience for Gaming and 3D, despite having decent display qualities for more standard computing activities.

How the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro compare to other laptops
"One of the Asus TUF Gaming F17’s highlights is without a doubt its excellent gaming performance. The fact that Asus configured the RTX 3060 GPU for its specified maximum of 140 W is became immediately noticeable in our benchmarks. For a 17-inch notebook the F17 also offers a very long battery life, which makes it somewhat portable. On the flip side is the display. It may be saved by its good overall contrast ratio, but its overall brightness is simply too low, and its response times are too slow for a gaming device. The F17’s successor needs to improve upon this."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro turns out a successful all-rounder that, aside from 3D applications, always strikes a good or very good figure. This begins with the elegant metal case that isn't particularly light but fairly robust, giving a high-quality impression. The input devices are also better than those of many competitors. Both the keyboard and the touchpad are attractive and comfortable. In addition, the performance of the Ryzen 5 6600HS is easily able to keep up with the Intel competitors."
