If you require a laptop for intensive tasks like gaming or engineering, the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 with its powerful processor and dedicated graphics card offers robust performance, large screen, and higher refresh rate for smoother visuals, making it suitable for intensive applications, but it's heavier and less portable. Conversely, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14" is more affordable and lightweight, with a fanless design for silent operation, favoring portability and basic tasks but falling short on storage space, power, and screen quality, which may impede performance-intensive activities or multitasking. The ASUS has a trade-off of cost and portability for performance, while the Lenovo emphasizes cost savings and portability at the expense of high performance. Give Feedback

The ASUS TUF Gaming F17 is good for general use, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14" is only fair.
The ASUS TUF Gaming F17 offers more storage, higher RAM, and a better processor and graphics unit than the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14", which translates to smoother performance in various tasks and better screen quality for general use. However, the TUF's larger size and lower battery life make it less portable than the lighter IdeaPad with its more extended battery performance, although its inferior CPU and RAM limit its utility for more demanding applications.

The ASUS TUF Gaming F17 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
For general use, the ASUS TUF Gaming F17's superior resolution and brightness make for a clearer and more vibrant display compared to the dimmer and lower resolution screen of the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14". When engaging in engineering and design tasks, the ASUS' wider color gamut ensures greater color accuracy and range, which is lacking in the IdeaPad 1, making it less ideal for professional color work. In 3D environments and gaming, the ASUS falls short due to a lower refresh rate that can't match the fluid motion demanded by fast-paced visuals, whereas the Lenovo IdeaPad also falls short, as it doesn't meet the necessary specifications for either high refresh rate or resolution.

How the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14" compare to other laptops
"One of the Asus TUF Gaming F17’s highlights is without a doubt its excellent gaming performance. The fact that Asus configured the RTX 3060 GPU for its specified maximum of 140 W is became immediately noticeable in our benchmarks. For a 17-inch notebook the F17 also offers a very long battery life, which makes it somewhat portable. On the flip side is the display. It may be saved by its good overall contrast ratio, but its overall brightness is simply too low, and its response times are too slow for a gaming device. The F17’s successor needs to improve upon this."
"The IdeaPad 1 14 is a simple machine, but it’s well-designed and has nearly everything you’d expect from a no-nonsense laptop that allows you to check emails and get schoolwork or other light tasks done with relative ease. A "true" 128GB SSD (as opposed to an eMMC drive) and a roomy 14-inch full HD display are arguably the star attractions, with the comfortable keyboard and reasonably modern styling playing important backup roles."
