When choosing between the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 and the HP Envy 17, consider that the ASUS offers better 3D and machine learning performance due to its dedicated gaming graphics card, making it well-suited for intensive gaming and engineering tasks. However, the HP Envy 17, while not as strong in those specific areas, offers superior general-use performance with high-quality screen colors, making it a better option for general productivity and multimedia tasks. The Envy is also slightly lighter than the ASUS, which may be an advantage for portability. Keep in mind that the ASUS may have louder fan noise due to its focus on gaming. Give Feedback

The ASUS TUF Gaming F17 has a better screen than the HP Envy 17 for gaming and AI, while the HP Envy 17 has a better screen for engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 and HP Envy 17 offer pleasing visuals and clear resolution, but the HP's superior panel type and brightness provide sharper and more vibrant images, making it more enjoyable for everyday tasks. In engineering and design, where color accuracy is critical for rendering detailed plans and graphics, the HP Envy 17's coverage of professional color gamuts ensures more precise and vivid color representation. However, for gaming and 3D applications, the ASUS F17 falls short due to its modest refresh rate, which is less ideal for the fluid motion required, while the HP Envy 17, despite its good screen detail, similarly lacks the high refresh rate gamers seek for a smooth experience.

How the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 and the HP Envy 17 compare to other laptops
"One of the Asus TUF Gaming F17’s highlights is without a doubt its excellent gaming performance. The fact that Asus configured the RTX 3060 GPU for its specified maximum of 140 W is became immediately noticeable in our benchmarks. For a 17-inch notebook the F17 also offers a very long battery life, which makes it somewhat portable. On the flip side is the display. It may be saved by its good overall contrast ratio, but its overall brightness is simply too low, and its response times are too slow for a gaming device. The F17’s successor needs to improve upon this."
"In our test, the HP Envy 17-cr0079ng presents itself as a balanced multimedia laptop. Thanks to its solid CPU performance and dedicated entry-level GeForce, it can also be used for playing video games, as long as the demands aren't too high. Those looking for more can find it in the Dell XPS 17 for example."
