If your main goal is gaming or demanding tasks like 3D modeling or video editing, the ASUS TUF Gaming A15, while more expensive, will provide the superior performance you need with its advanced processor and dedicated graphics card. Its build is also sturdier, designed to endure the heat and stress of intense use, though this results in a heavier and thicker laptop, making it less convenient to carry around. However, if you require a device for general use, like web browsing, office applications, or streaming media, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 is much more affordable and lighter, favoring portability and cost savings over performance. Keep in mind, the Lenovo has a shorter battery life and less power, which could be a limitation if you stray into more intensive tasks or need to work away from a power outlet for extended periods. The ASUS TUF Gaming A15 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
If you mostly handle documents, web browsing, and media consumption, the ASUS TUF Gaming A15 offers a vivid and bright display that enhances these experiences. For engineering and design work where color accuracy is crucial, the ASUS's ability to represent a wider range of colors is beneficial, despite not being top-of-the-line. However, for gaming and 3D applications where smooth motion is key, the ASUS lags behind due to a lower refresh rate, making fast-paced visuals less fluid compared to laptops with higher refresh rates.

How the ASUS TUF Gaming A15 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" compare to other laptops
"With the release of the TUF Gaming A15, Asos have concentrated on the essentials: gaming performance. Our base version, which can be had for around $1,169, already provided enough power to play current games smoothly in a native resolution of 1080p and with maximum details - thanks to its new Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop. If you utilize upscaling, then you can even manage to run ray tracing."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is affordable and pretty efficient. At the end of the day, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 (15″, 2023) is one of the better affordable laptops money can buy right now. It has a decent performance, albeit coming from a CPU that is based on old architecture. Playing low-intensity games is possible but at low to medium settings. We are really happy with the cooling setup, but the main event here is the battery life. We got 9 hours of either Web browsing or video playback, which is a great result. Especially if you compare this device with the ASUS E410."
