The ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 offers superior performance for intensive tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering, with a high-end processor and graphics card, more RAM and storage, and a higher quality display with a faster refresh rate. However, it is more expensive and less portable due to its larger size and weight. On the other hand, the Gateway 14.1" is more budget-friendly, significantly lighter, and easier to carry, making it suitable for general use and basic tasks but not for demanding applications due to its less powerful processor, lower RAM, and basic graphics capabilities. Consider the M16 if performance is a priority or the Gateway if portability and price are more important. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Christian Hintze | March 2023
"The ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 is not yet as optimised as its predecessor. Compared to the previous gen, performance and efficiency have improved significantly. What's more, the wonderful, Mini-LED Nebula display is a contender for the main highlight and almost manages to put the CPU and GPU in the shade. We already found its predecessor to be a well-rounded and well-optimised gaming machine. Generally, but not unequivocally, that also applies to the new Asus M16. Similar to most of the current, new laptops, we are dealing with a double generational leap in terms of the CPU and GPU. However, this change doesn't always run smoothly."

NotebookCheck

Allen Ngo | September 2021
"The Gateway Ultra Slim 14" is surprisingly quiet with long battery life. The inexpensive Gateway excels at maximizing performance per dollar with lots of RAM and storage, super-quiet fan, and a long battery life. It can even house up to two M.2 SSDs which we weren't expecting from such a cheap system. However, the iffy reliability of the keyboard and USB-C port on our test unit means users should double-check for these potential issues immediately after purchasing."
