The ASUS ROG Flow X16 offers a sharper display with touch functionality, better color range, and a more premium design, which makes it suitable for creative professionals and users who prioritize high-quality visuals and a sleek build. It also provides a tablet mode due to its convertible design, adding to its versatility. On the other hand, the Dell G15 5520 has better battery life and is less expensive, making it a good fit if budget and sustained usage away from a power source are your main concerns. Both laptops have similar storage, RAM, and powerful processors and graphics cards suitable for gaming, machine learning, and engineering tasks, but the ASUS is slightly more portable and has a better build quality and color accuracy, which may enhance the overall user experience in various scenarios. The ASUS ROG Flow X16 has a better screen than the Dell G15 5520 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
The ASUS ROG Flow X16 likely has a higher resolution and brighter display, making it suitable for everyday tasks like browsing and video streaming, and is capable of rendering colors more accurately which is beneficial for engineering and design work. However, its lower refresh rate could hinder the experience in fast-paced gaming and 3D applications where smooth motion is critical. In contrast, the Dell G15 5520 offers a sufficient screen for daily activities and work in engineering but falls short in gaming and 3D for the same reason—its refresh rate does not cater to the demands of those high-speed visual environments.

How the ASUS ROG Flow X16 and the Dell G15 5520 compare to other laptops
"Above all else, the Asus ROG Flow X16 is one thing - versatile! It is a thin, mobile work device, it's a 2-in-1, tablet, a powerful workstation and even a gaming PC. But something even more surprising: It does all of these things really well without making any big blunders. It's anything but a lazy compromise. Because, despite its compact dimensions and 2-in-1 functionality, the hardware isn't throttled and boasts, at least in turbo mode, above-average performance."
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."
