The Dell G15 5520 is very good for engineering and design, while the Dell Inspiron 16 5625 is good.
The Dell G15 5520 excels in engineering and design due to its more potent CPU and GPU, better screen refresh rate suited for fast-paced visual tasks, and larger storage capacity, all of which contribute to improved performance for demanding applications. On the other hand, the Dell Inspiron 16 5625, while offering a similar amount of RAM, an adequate CPU for many engineering tasks, and a high-resolution screen, lacks the robust GPU of the G15 5520 and has a lower storage capacity, which makes it less optimal for more intensive engineering and design work where graphical processing and data storage are more crucial.

The Dell G15 5520 has a better screen than the Dell Inspiron 16 5625 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
If you primarily use your laptop for everyday tasks like browsing, watching videos, and document editing, the Dell G15 5520's superior resolution and brightness make it a superior choice over the Inspiron 16 5625. For engineering and design work where color accuracy and a broad color range are crucial, again, the G15 5520 stands out with better coverage of professional color gamuts, aiding in tasks like photo editing and CAD work. However, for gaming or working with 3D applications, the G15 5520 falls short due to its lower refresh rate compared to screens tailored for these purposes, making for less fluid visuals in fast-paced scenes.

How the Dell G15 5520 and the Dell Inspiron 16 5625 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."
"I think there is fair value in the Inspiron 16 this year. Very little has changed with the laptop and my opinion hasn’t really changed either. In other words, I like it. Overall, I think the pros far outweigh the cons of this laptop and the price is certainly justifiable. I found this to be a great typer and I could potentially work all day on this machine, provided I don’t need a graphics card."
