If top-notch build quality, longer battery life, and a higher-resolution screen are important to you, and you primarily engage in general use, the Apple MacBook Pro 13 with M1 chip may be the better choice. However, the MacBook Pro has less storage and less RAM than the Acer Nitro 5, which can affect performance during more intensive tasks. On the other hand, the Acer Nitro 5 offers greater performance for 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering tasks due to its more powerful CPU and dedicated GPU, and it comes with more RAM and storage. The tradeoff is that the Nitro 5 is bulkier and heavier, making it less portable than the MacBook Pro, and it has shorter battery life. If you prioritize gaming, intensive computing tasks, or need more storage out of the box, the Nitro 5 would be favorable. Give Feedback

The Apple MacBook Pro 13 has a better screen than the Acer Nitro 5 15 for general use, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Nitro 5, with its good screen quality, offers a balance of resolution and brightness suitable for general activities like web browsing and video streaming, but it may not provide the wide color gamuts needed for accurate color work in engineering and design. The Apple MacBook Pro, acclaimed for its Retina display, excels in delivering sharp text and vivid colors across a wide spectrum that professionals require, making it ideal for both general use and precise color tasks. However, for gaming and working with 3D graphics, where the fluidity of motion is key, both laptops fall short due to their lower refresh rates, which are less optimal for the smooth rendering of fast-paced visuals.

How the Acer Nitro 5 15 and the Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2020) compare to other laptops
"The Acer Nitro 5 is a fast QHD gaming notebook. The Nitro 5 is a well-balanced gaming laptop for just under US$ 2400. A Core i7-12700H CPU and a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU enable QHD gaming at high to maximum settings, accompanied by fast PCIe-4-SSD (1 TB) and 16 GB of RAM. Acer delivers a solid QHD gaming notebook with the Nitro 5 AN515-58. However, the laptop is not completely free of shortcomings. The CPU and GPU can work at consistently high clock rates. The laptop heats up noticeably under load, but not excessively. Noise development is on the usual class level. Once again, however, Acer needs to improve the fan control."
"The MacBook Pro 13 is still a very good subnotebook. The 2022 MacBook Pro 13 might look like recycling at first, because the device is completely identical to the old model expect for the new M2 SoC. We have to admit that we were surprised to see another iteration of the MBP 13 as well. The laptop is obviously familiar, but this does not change the fact that it is still a very good subnotebook. You get an excellent chassis with good stability, a very good display, good input devices and the new M2 chip is very powerful and efficient."
