If superior graphics, faster refresh rate, and better gaming and engineering performance are priorities, and you don't mind a heavier and bulkier build, the Lenovo Legion 5 15" with its dedicated Nvidia RTX graphics card is a good fit despite its higher price. Conversely, if you value a lighter, more portable laptop with extended battery life and a fanless, silent operation for general use, the LG Ultra 16 is a viable option, considering it is usually slightly less expensive but comes with less powerful integrated graphics that are not optimal for intensive tasks or advanced gaming. The Lenovo Legion 5 15" has a better screen than the LG Ultra 16 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design, while the LG Ultra 16 has a better screen for content creation, and software development.
The Lenovo Legion 5 15" offers a high resolution and brightness, improving clarity and visibility for everyday tasks and detailed engineering work. It might not suit gamers or 3D designers due to a lower refresh rate, which can affect the smoothness of fast-moving visuals. On the other hand, the LG Ultra 16's moderate resolution and brightness provide an adequate viewing experience for general use and engineering design, but it also falls short for gaming and 3D purposes for the same reason.

How the Lenovo Legion 5 15" and the LG Ultra 16 compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo Legion 5 15 is an affordable gaming laptop with a lot of power. The new AMD processor Ryzen 7 5800H offers plenty of performance and it is also very efficient. The combination with the fast 130W version of the GeForce RTX 3060 ensures high gaming performance. We also like the fast 165 Hz display with the 1080p resolution. The automatic graphics switching causes some problems with stutters, which are very annoying. If you do not need long battery runtimes, you should definitely deactivate the hybrid graphics mode in Lenovo's Vantage app. The Legion 5 15 is never silent."
"Unlike the gram, the Ultra PC isn't designed to be as lightweight as possible. The 16-inch laptop is a whole 400 g (0.88 lb) heavier than its 16-inch gram counterpart partly because its chassis is not made of magnesium. Other than that, the Ultra PC seems like a copy of the gram – but with longer battery life, lower noise levels, and a clean, delicate look."
