Choosing between the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" and the MSI Summit E14 Flip Evo largely depends on your requirements and budget. If cost is a major concern and your tasks are mostly everyday computing like browsing and office applications, the Lenovo may suffice while saving you money. However, if you need higher performance for tasks like professional work, the MSI with its faster processor and better screen resolution is a more suitable option, albeit at a higher cost. It also offers more storage and a convertible design that lets you use it as a tablet. Both laptops have similar portability, but the MSI has a more premium build and additional features like a better screen and more versatile use cases, which might justify its higher price for those who need such enhancements. The MSI Summit E14 Flip Evo is good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is only fair.
The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" with its AMD Ryzen 7 CPU and Vega 8 GPU offers adequate power and a standard screen quality for engineering tasks, whereas the MSI Summit E14 Flip Evo, equipped with a faster Intel i7 CPU and Iris Xe graphics, alongside superior screen resolution and color accuracy, makes it more suitable for detailed design work. While both have similar portability, the superior hardware and display of the MSI make it a better choice for those prioritizing performance in engineering and design applications, acknowledging its potentially higher cost due to these enhancements.

The MSI Summit E14 Flip Evo has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Lenovo IdeaPad 1's screen may suffice for general tasks like web browsing and word processing, but its basic panel type and lower resolution mean it's not as sharp or vibrant as others. The MSI Summit E14 Flip Evo's higher resolution and superior panel type result in clearer, more vivid images, essential for detail-oriented work in engineering and design. However, both laptops fall short for gaming and 3D applications, which demand high refresh rates for smooth motion; their screens prioritize other features.

How the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" and the MSI Summit E14 Flip Evo compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is affordable and pretty efficient. At the end of the day, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 (15″, 2023) is one of the better affordable laptops money can buy right now. It has a decent performance, albeit coming from a CPU that is based on old architecture. Playing low-intensity games is possible but at low to medium settings. We are really happy with the cooling setup, but the main event here is the battery life. We got 9 hours of either Web browsing or video playback, which is a great result. Especially if you compare this device with the ASUS E410."
"The MSI Summit E14 Flip convertible review: a legit alternative to HP, Dell or Lenovo. Instead of taking the 13-inch Summit E13 Flip and simply enlarging it for a 14-inch form factor, the Summit E14 Flip is the full chassis redesign we've been looking for. It loses some of the golden trims of its smaller sibling, but the gains in rigidity and build quality are arguably worth it especially from a professional standpoint where reliability takes priority. It doesn't quite feel as strong as the HP Spectre just yet, but it's certainly getting close."
