For general use, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is often less expensive and has a longer battery life which can be vital if you are on the go. It's also lighter, enhancing its portability, and includes a touchscreen for added convenience. However, for tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, or gaming, the MSI Bravo 15, while usually a bit more expensive, provides better performance due to its dedicated Nvidia graphics card. It also has a higher refresh rate screen that's better suited for fast motion, such as in gaming. Both will perform well for engineering tasks, but MSI might have a slight edge with its superior GPU. The MSI Bravo 15 is good for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is only fair.
The MSI Bravo 15 is rated higher for gaming and 3D because it features a dedicated Nvidia RTX 4050 GPU that supports hardware ray tracing and DLSS, and has a higher screen refresh rate which is critical for smoother visuals in fast-paced games. On the other hand, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" uses an integrated AMD Ryzen 7 5700U Vega 8 GPU, which is less powerful for gaming, and its screen refresh rate is lower, meaning gameplay won't be as fluid as on the MSI Bravo 15.

The MSI Bravo 15 is good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is only fair.
The MSI Bravo 15 stands out for engineering and design use due to the inclusion of a dedicated Nvidia RTX 4050 GPU, which outperforms the integrated Vega 8 graphics in the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15", offering better visualization and rendering capabilities. Additionally, the higher refresh rate and superior contrast ratio of the MSI's display contribute to more detailed and smoother visuals, important for design work, despite the MSI being less portable and having a shorter battery life than the Lenovo.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" has a better screen than the MSI Bravo 15 for software development, and content creation, while the MSI Bravo 15 has a better screen for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" has a display that provides sufficient clarity and brightness for tasks like browsing the web and working with documents, which is why it's adequate for general use, but its limited color range and lower refresh rate might not satisfy users engaging in engineering, design, or fast-paced 3D games. On the other hand, the MSI Bravo 15 offers a better visual experience for general use because of its superior brightness and color reproduction, while still not hitting the high color accuracy and refresh rates needed for professional design work or high-end gaming. Therefore, both laptops are suited to everyday tasks, but for specialized work in engineering, design, or gaming, their screens fall short in delivering the required color fidelity and smoothness.

How the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" and the MSI Bravo 15 compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is affordable and pretty efficient. At the end of the day, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 (15″, 2023) is one of the better affordable laptops money can buy right now. It has a decent performance, albeit coming from a CPU that is based on old architecture. Playing low-intensity games is possible but at low to medium settings. We are really happy with the cooling setup, but the main event here is the battery life. We got 9 hours of either Web browsing or video playback, which is a great result. Especially if you compare this device with the ASUS E410."
"Overall, the MSI Bravo 15 C7U is a great gaming device for the masses that isn’t too pricey. The capable hardware (for the price range), the 144Hz display, and the comfortable keyboard are one of the things that should attract buyers who don’t want to spend a fortune on a new gaming laptop."
