The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is less expensive and offers a mix of good performance and battery life for general use, with a larger screen and backlit keyboard. However, the LG Gram 17, while more expensive, is particularly lightweight with a larger and higher-resolution screen, longer battery life, and better performance, especially suitable for demanding tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering. The LG Gram also has additional features like a high color accuracy screen and Thunderbolt ports. Choose the Lenovo IdeaPad if you are budget-conscious but need decent multitasking capabilities and portability. Opt for the LG Gram if your workload is intensive and a combination of high performance, superior display, and portability is paramount. Both have white backlit keyboards and are suitable for general use, though the LG Gram has a better build quality, fan noise management, and overall better scores in performance and screen quality, if your budget allows for a higher price point. The LG Gram 17 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
If you prioritize a laptop primarily for daily tasks like browsing, document editing, or video streaming, the LG Gram 17 offers a larger, crisper, and brighter display compared to the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15", enhancing overall viewing experiences during general usage. For engineering and design work, where accurate colors are crucial, the LG Gram 17 again stands out with its wider color gamut, ensuring that designs and images are displayed with better fidelity. However, for gaming and 3D applications where fast-moving visuals are common, neither laptop excels due to their lower refresh rates, but the Lenovo IdeaPad, with its smaller screen, means less immersive gaming experiences compared to the LG Gram 17.

How the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" and the LG Gram 17 compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is affordable and pretty efficient. At the end of the day, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 (15″, 2023) is one of the better affordable laptops money can buy right now. It has a decent performance, albeit coming from a CPU that is based on old architecture. Playing low-intensity games is possible but at low to medium settings. We are really happy with the cooling setup, but the main event here is the battery life. We got 9 hours of either Web browsing or video playback, which is a great result. Especially if you compare this device with the ASUS E410."
"The LG Gram 17 is a light office laptop with a large display and great battery life. The newest incarnation of the Gram 17 can be classified as a model update. LG uses the predecessor's compact, light magnesium case along with an identical port configuration (including 2x Thunderbolt 4) and keyboard. Changes can be found in the hardware. With the Gram 17 (2022), LG offers a light (approx. 1,350 g), mobile work device - and finally with a matte display."
