When choosing between the HP Spectre x360 and the Lenovo ThinkPad T14, consider the following: the Spectre x360 offers a convertible design with a touchscreen, making it versatile for both work and casual use—it's also generally sleeker and more aesthetically pleasing, which might be important if design is a priority. On the other hand, the ThinkPad T14 is known for its durable build and exceptional keyboard, which is better suited for extended typing tasks and a work-focused environment. Both perform well for general use, but if you lean towards creative tasks or prefer a tablet mode, the Spectre could be more appealing, while if you foresee a need for a robust machine with a comfortable typing experience, the ThinkPad T14 may serve you better. The HP Spectre x360 has a better screen than the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
For general use, the HP Spectre x360's higher resolution and brightness make it superior for tasks like browsing and watching videos, whereas the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 offers satisfactory clarity and luminosity. In engineering and design work where accurate color representation is crucial, the Spectre x360 stands out due to its wider color gamuts, ensuring that designs are viewed in their intended hues. However, for gaming and 3D applications that benefit from smoother motion, both laptops fall short because they lack high refresh rates, making neither ideal for these fast-paced activities.

The Lenovo ThinkPad T14 and HP Spectre x360 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
While both the HP Spectre x360 and the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 feature integrated graphics rather than dedicated GPUs, which limits their performance in demanding gaming and 3D tasks, they can still handle less intensive applications decently. The Spectre's high-quality display and ThinkPad's robust CPU contribute positively, but neither can compensate for the moderate refresh rates and GPU limitations when it comes to high-end gaming or professional 3D work.

How the HP Spectre x360 and the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 compare to other laptops
"As we said, Lenovo's Yoga 9i is a tough competitor to the Spectre with an equally admirable OLED display. We're sad that neither of them has an HDMI port nor a niche or slot to hold the stylus, though the HP wins points for its bundled mini docking station and magnetically attached pen. Your choice will come down to screen shape—and in our eyes, just as seeing an OLED screen spoils you for an IPS panel, enjoying a tall 3:2 display spoils you for a more conventional view. The HP Spectre x360 13.5 is our new favorite 2-in-1."
"We like a lot about this laptop. It has many ports, with the inclusion of RJ45-Ethernet as a defining feature. WWAN is upgradable for maximum flexibility and the ThinkPad has many security functions. Working with the ThinkPad input devices is a lot of fun, and Lenovo puts in a serviceable Low Power panel. The AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 7840U delivers a great performance and does not drain the battery fast. Fan noise and temperatures are nothing special, but also far away from bad. With the user replaceable keyboard, the ThinkPad T14 Gen 4 has a special feature rarely present on most modern laptops."
