If you prioritize saving money and only need basic functionality, the Gateway 14.1" can be a sensible choice, as it typically costs less than the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x and offers the essentials for everyday tasks like web browsing and word processing. However, if you require higher performance for tasks like video editing, gaming, or running complex software, the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x is a superior option, offering better speed and efficiency, though at a higher price point. The ThinkBook also generally has a more robust build quality, a sharper display, and a longer battery life, making it a worthwhile investment for those who need a more capable and durable machine. Additionally, it's more portable due to its compact size, which could be a significant advantage if you frequently travel or work on the go. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Allen Ngo | September 2021
"The Gateway Ultra Slim 14" is surprisingly quiet with long battery life. The inexpensive Gateway excels at maximizing performance per dollar with lots of RAM and storage, super-quiet fan, and a long battery life. It can even house up to two M.2 SSDs which we weren't expecting from such a cheap system. However, the iffy reliability of the keyboard and USB-C port on our test unit means users should double-check for these potential issues immediately after purchasing."
