If price is a major consideration and you need a laptop for basic tasks like web browsing and document editing, the Gateway 14.1" may suit you as it is much less expensive. However, the MSI Summit E16 Flip offers better performance for intensive engineering tasks, 3D rendering, machine learning, and it is suitable for gaming. It also features a higher resolution touchscreen with better color accuracy. The MSI has a larger, heavier form which may make it less portable than the lighter Gateway, but it compensates with more powerful hardware, a backlit keyboard, and longer battery life during typical use. The MSI Summit E16 Flip has a better screen than the Gateway 14.1" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Gateway 14.1" has a screen that's adequate for browsing and watching videos thanks to its decent resolution and brightness, but its limited color range makes it less ideal for precision work like engineering or design. The MSI Summit E16 Flip, on the other hand, offers a high-resolution, bright display with wide color gamuts, which enhances the experience for detailed graphical work required in engineering and design tasks. How the Gateway 14.1" and the MSI Summit E16 Flip compare to other laptops
"The Gateway Ultra Slim 14" is surprisingly quiet with long battery life. The inexpensive Gateway excels at maximizing performance per dollar with lots of RAM and storage, super-quiet fan, and a long battery life. It can even house up to two M.2 SSDs which we weren't expecting from such a cheap system. However, the iffy reliability of the keyboard and USB-C port on our test unit means users should double-check for these potential issues immediately after purchasing."
"The MSI Summit E16 Flip is a 2-in-1 laptop with pen, 16:10 display, and RTX 3050 Ti. The Summit E16 Flip is a 2-in-1 laptop from the business segment that primarily targets creative users. MSI combines a 16-inch touchscreen in the 16:10 format with a powerful midrange GPU. While the 2-in-1 laptop from MSI isn't meant for everybody, it should definitely attract some followers. The touchscreen display (2,560 x 1,600 pixels) covers the DCI-P3 color space. This is accompanied by stable viewing angles, a good color reproduction, short response times, and a good contrast level."
