The Gateway 14.1" laptop is typically much less expensive than the MSI Stealth GS66 and features a budget-friendly Intel Celeron processor suitable for general use like web browsing, document editing, and video playback. However, the MSI Stealth GS66 offers superior performance with its high-end Intel i7 processor and Nvidia RTX graphics, making it excellent for 3D rendering, gaming, engineering software, and machine learning tasks. The Stealth GS66 also boasts higher build quality, better heat management, and a more vibrant screen but is heavier and less portable than the Gateway. If cost is a primary concern and your needs are basic, the Gateway may suffice, but for demanding applications, the MSI is the superior option despite being less portable and more expensive. The MSI Stealth GS66 is good for general use, while the Gateway 14.1" is poor.
The Gateway 14.1" laptop, with a lesser-powered Intel Celeron processor, 4GB of RAM, and poor keyboard quality, is not as capable for general use as the MSI Stealth GS66, which boasts a high-end Intel i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, very good keyboard and speaker quality, and superior heat management, all of which contribute to a more seamless and enjoyable user experience. While both feature IPS displays with full HD resolution, the MSI's better screen brightness and color coverage enhance visual tasks, and its larger battery provides a longer battery life despite the MSI being slightly heavier, balancing portability with performance.

The MSI Stealth GS66 has a better screen than the Gateway 14.1" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the Gateway's screen offers a basic experience due to its acceptable resolution and brightness, but the MSI Stealth GS66 brings sharper images and more vivid colors because of its higher quality panel, making it a more pleasant option for everyday activities. Engineers and designers would appreciate the MSI Stealth GS66's wider color gamut that covers more of the DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB spectrum, ensuring more accurate color reproduction for professional tasks, while the Gateway falls short in this aspect. Gamers and 3D users, however, may find both laptops lacking, as neither are optimized for high refresh rates which are crucial for smooth motion in fast-paced games and 3D applications, but the resolution and panel type of the MSI will provide a moderately better experience.

"The Gateway Ultra Slim 14" is surprisingly quiet with long battery life. The inexpensive Gateway excels at maximizing performance per dollar with lots of RAM and storage, super-quiet fan, and a long battery life. It can even house up to two M.2 SSDs which we weren't expecting from such a cheap system. However, the iffy reliability of the keyboard and USB-C port on our test unit means users should double-check for these potential issues immediately after purchasing."
"The MSI Stealth GS66 is powerful enough for QHD. The Core i7-12700H and the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti found in the 12UGS model that we tested run all modern games smoothly in the native QHD resolution. The 15-inch display is very fast with its 240 Hz refresh rate, and it also offers a great color space (almost 100% DCI-P3) on top of that, which should please gamers as well as content creators, although we would have still wished for a higher brightness. Case, input devices, and connectivity (Thunderbolt 4) are at a good level. However, among other things, the GS66 loses points due to the high temperature development in 3D mode and its poor webcam."
