If you're seeking a laptop for general use with a tight budget in mind, the Gateway 14.1" is a solid choice due to its significantly lower cost, ample screen size, and full HD display. However, the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13, although more expensive, provides higher performance with a more powerful processor and more memory—making it better for engineering tasks, 3D work, or machine learning. It also has a higher-resolution touchscreen display, a lighter and thinner build, longer battery life, and additional features like a backlit keyboard and biometric security options, which might be valuable for business or advanced users. NotebookCheck

Allen Ngo | September 2021
"The Gateway Ultra Slim 14" is surprisingly quiet with long battery life. The inexpensive Gateway excels at maximizing performance per dollar with lots of RAM and storage, super-quiet fan, and a long battery life. It can even house up to two M.2 SSDs which we weren't expecting from such a cheap system. However, the iffy reliability of the keyboard and USB-C port on our test unit means users should double-check for these potential issues immediately after purchasing."

PCMag

Brian Westover | September 2022
"In the premium ultraportable space, the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 competes with the best of the best, and still manages to shine. The design is an impressive departure from the bland bare-metal laptop that's become so popular in recent years, and the AMD-powered system has performance that's just as impressive. It's a stark alternative to the Intel-based majority, and it stands up well enough to the impressive Apple M2 processor."
