Choosing between the Dell G15 5520 and the Razer Blade 15 involves considering what you value most in a laptop. For a lower price, the Dell G15 offers solid performance and a good keyboard but is heavier and has a lower screen resolution. On the other hand, the Razer Blade 15, while more expensive, comes with a more powerful GPU, higher screen resolution, better battery capacity, and is lighter, making it more portable. If battery life and portability are top priorities alongside performance for gaming or professional tasks, the Razer Blade 15 shines, but for those needing a more budget-friendly option without compromising much on performance, the Dell G15 could be suitable. The Razer Blade 15 has a better screen than the Dell G15 5520 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and software development.
If you prioritize clear visuals and color accuracy for tasks such as document editing or graphic design, the Dell G15's good screen quality with respectable resolution and brightness levels makes it a suitable choice, while the Razer Blade 15's very good screen excels with even sharper image clarity and potentially better color representation suited for detailed engineering work. However, both laptops have limitations for gaming and 3D applications, as their screens may not refresh as quickly as needed for smooth motion rendering which is crucial for those activities. Choosing between the two depends on whether you value the Razer Blade's higher screen fidelity for professional creative work over the Dell G15's balanced capabilities adequate for a range of general and engineering tasks.

How the Dell G15 5520 and the Razer Blade 15 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."
"The 2022 Blade 15 offers roughly 15 to 25 percent faster graphics performance and 20 percent faster CPU performance over last year's Core i7-11800H and RTX 3080 model. Thankfully, the system doesn't need to run noticeably louder or warmer to achieve faster results, but both power consumption and battery life take a hit. The higher consumption in particular appears to be a trend amongst many 12th gen Core laptops including the Schenker Uniwill Technology GM7AG8P or MSI Vector GP66 when compared to their previous generation counterparts. We're also glad to not see below-average CPU performance which was the case for the 10th gen Core i7-10875H model."
