If you prioritize gaming or high-performance tasks requiring better graphics capability and future-proofing, opt for the MSI Stealth 14 Studio since it comes with a more powerful Nvidia RTX 4060 graphics, which significantly outperforms the Dell G15 5520's RTX 3060. The MSI Stealth also has a higher resolution display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, which offers more vertical space, beneficial for productivity and creative work. Additionally, it's lighter and thinner, making it more portable. However, the Dell G15 5520 excels in battery life and is less expensive. It's a robust choice for general use and gaming without the absolute latest graphics, and it supports heavier workloads reasonably well, making it a good value proposition if you're on a tighter budget or if battery endurance is crucial for you. The MSI Stealth 14 Studio has a better screen than the Dell G15 5520 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The Dell G15 5520 and MSI Stealth 14 Studio both have panels with resolutions and brightness levels that suit a wide range of everyday tasks, offering clear and vivid displays for browsing, video streaming, and productivity software, which explains their good screen quality for general use. For engineering and design, both laptops likely cover a substantial portion of color gamuts like DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB, ensuring that colors are accurately represented for tasks that demand color fidelity. However, their suitability for gaming and 3D is compromised due to lower refresh rates, which means on-screen motion might not be as smooth, a drawback for high-speed gaming or real-time 3D rendering.

How the Dell G15 5520 and the MSI Stealth 14 Studio compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."
"You'll find a versatility in the MSI Stealth 14 Studio that isn’t matched by many content-creator laptops we've tested of late. The small frame allows you to (potentially) work from anywhere with an outlet and, if noise isn’t a concern, run your most demanding of programs, thanks to some powerful hardware inside. The MSI Stealth 14 Studio is an attractive and powerful option if you want a portable laptop to be the center of your content work setup."
