The Dell G15 5520 is designed with gaming in mind, offering powerful graphics performance at a slightly lower cost, but it is heavier and has shorter battery life, which affects its portability. The MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo, while a bit more expensive, is lighter, has a longer battery life making it more portable, and an OLED screen providing better color and contrast, which could suit professionals in creative fields. The MSI also has twice the memory, beneficial for multitasking and demanding applications, but it may not be as suitable for high-end gaming given its different graphics configuration. Consider what activities you'll use the laptop for most often to guide your decision. Give Feedback

The MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo has a better screen than the Dell G15 5520 for general use, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the Dell G15 5520's good screen quality stems from a balance of decent resolution and brightness, ensuring comfortable everyday usage, while the MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo offers very good quality with sharper resolution and higher brightness, enhancing visibility and detail. When considering engineering and design work, the MSI Prestige leads with its excellent display capabilities which include a wider color gamut coverage critical for precise color work, whereas the Dell G15 holds up adequately with a good range but doesn't quite match the MSI's proficiency. However, both laptops are not ideal for Gaming and 3D due to their limited refresh rates, which can't deliver the ultra-smooth visuals favored in fast-paced gaming environments, despite having acceptable resolutions and panel types.

How the Dell G15 5520 and the MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."
"The MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo is meant to be a business-focused laptop, but it ends up being the MacBook challenger PC laptop enthusiasts have longed for. Not only can it meet and, in many cases, surpass the M2-powered MacBooks, but it is also surpassing the baseline M3 MacBooks, which is a giant leap forward for Intel-powered laptops. This isn’t hyperbole; this is what the numbers show."
