The Dell G15 5520 is better suited for intensive gaming and 3D or machine learning tasks due to its more powerful graphics card. It has a higher refresh rate display which is beneficial for fast-motion activities, like gaming, but it's heavier and has a shorter battery life. In contrast, the MSI Prestige 15, while not as powerful for gaming or demanding applications, offers a much longer battery life and is significantly lighter, making it highly portable. It also has a better color display, which can be advantageous for tasks involving visual content like photo editing. Both laptops have similar pricing, storage, and RAM capacities. If the priority is gaming or performance-heavy tasks, go for the Dell; if you value portability and longer battery usage, the MSI may be the better choice. Give Feedback

When considering general use, both the Dell G15 5520 and the MSI Prestige 15 offer sharp images and vibrant colors thanks to their panel type and high resolution, paired with sufficient brightness for comfortable viewing in various lighting environments. For engineering and design, the displays provide wide color coverage to ensure accurate color representation which is crucial for detailed work, although they may lack some high-end features found in specialized professional monitors. However, for gaming and 3D applications, the lower refresh rates of these laptops may lead to less smooth visuals, which can be noticeable especially in fast-paced gaming scenarios where high refresh rates are key for fluid motion.

How the Dell G15 5520 and the MSI Prestige 15 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."
"The MSI Prestige 15 offers a dazzling 4K image quality, and solid performance. The MSI Prestige 15 appears to consistently implement the guiding principle of throttling the solid and efficient hardware to such an extent that content creation succeeds perfectly. Performance-hungry tasks, on the other hand, are slowed down a little by the reduced power consumption. Conversely, this means that the case remains relatively cool and the dual fan subdued. The battery life also benefits somewhat. So the losses aren't really dramatic because full performance is still available for short bursts."
