If you are looking for a laptop to handle intensive tasks such as 3D rendering, machine learning or gaming, then the Dell G15 5520 with its higher-end processor and dedicated graphics card would be a better choice. However, be mindful that it is more expensive, heavier, and may have shorter battery life compared to the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15" which is more budget-friendly, more portable and could therefore be more adequate for general use like web browsing, watching videos, or handling light productivity tasks. The Lenovo also has a longer battery life which is important if you need to use the laptop for extended periods without charging. Give Feedback

The Dell G15 5520 is good for general use, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15" is only fair.
The Dell G15 5520 is considered good for general use because it has a high-performance CPU, ample RAM for multitasking, a quality IPS screen with high brightness, and solid build and heat management, although its battery life and portability are only fair due to its higher weight and larger size.

The Dell G15 5520 is good for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15" is poor.
The Dell G15 5520 is equipped with a more powerful GPU and higher screen refresh rate, making it well-suited for gaming and 3D applications that demand fluid visuals and faster rendering. In contrast, the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 has a less capable GPU and lower refresh rate screen, which means it won't handle demanding graphics tasks or gaming as effectively as the Dell.

The Dell G15 5520 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Dell G15 5520 likely has a high-resolution display with strong brightness, contributing to its superior screen quality for general use and engineering, where detail and visibility are key, yet it may lack a high refresh rate, diminishing its appeal for 3D applications and gaming where fluid motion is crucial. The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15", with a lower-quality screen, doesn't provide the sharpness, brightness, or wide color gamuts necessary for optimal viewing in general usage or precise color work in engineering and design. Furthermore, its insufficient refresh rate would not be ideal for 3D and gaming, which demand smooth and responsive visuals.

"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 is an enduring office notebook with a powerful Ryzen APU. Lenovo's office all-rounder easily handles office and internet applications as well as modest games - the Ryzen 5 5625U APU and 16 GB of RAM make this possible. The CPU and GPU can work at consistently high clock rates. The emission values are okay, but the noise emissions should be lower under medium to full load. The relatively light notebook (approx. 1.6 kg) achieves practical battery runtimes of about 10 to 11 hours."
