If performance for engineering or gaming is a priority, the Dell G15, with its higher-powered Intel processor and RTX graphics, will better meet your demands, though at a higher price and with less portability due to its larger size and weight. On the other hand, the Lenovo Flex 5 is more affordable, offers adequate performance for general use and multitasking with its Ryzen processor, and brings versatility with its 2-in-1 convertible design, making it suitable as both a laptop and a tablet, as well as having a lighter and more portable form. The tradeoff with the Lenovo is in the gaming and intensive tasks capabilities, which are more limited compared to the Dell. Choose the Dell if you need top performance, and the Lenovo if cost, versatility, and portability are more important. Give Feedback

The Dell G15 5520 is good for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo Flex 5 14 is only fair.
The Dell G15 5520 offers better gaming and 3D performance mainly due to its superior Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics card and a higher screen refresh rate of 165hz, compared to the Lenovo Flex 5 14 which uses an integrated AMD Ryzen 7 7730U Vega 8 GPU and has a lower refresh rate of 60hz. While both laptops have capable processors and quality IPS displays, the Dell's GPU and refresh rate are far more critical for a smooth gaming experience.

The Dell G15 5520 is very good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo Flex 5 14 is good.
The Dell G15 5520 is better suited for engineering and design due to its powerful Intel i7 CPU and Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU, providing higher performance for demanding tasks, while the Lenovo Flex 5 14, with its AMD Ryzen 7 CPU and Vega 8 graphics, offers good performance but less suited for intensive design work. Additionally, the Dell has a higher screen refresh rate and density, enhancing visual detail and smoothness, though the Lenovo offers a higher resolution and portability due to its lighter weight and 2-in-1 convertible design, which may be handy for presentations and mobility.

The Dell G15 5520 has a better screen than the Lenovo Flex 5 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
For general use, the Dell G15 5520's screen stands out due to a combination of an appropriate resolution and brightness, making it suitable for everyday tasks and viewing comfort. On the other hand, in engineering and design, where precise color representation is critical, the Dell's ability to cover a wider range of color gamuts ensures that the visuals are accurate and vibrant. However, for gaming and 3D applications, where motion clarity and fluidity are key, the lower refresh rate of the Dell's screen may lead to less smooth visuals compared to displays designed specifically for these purposes.

How the Dell G15 5520 and the Lenovo Flex 5 14 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."
"The highlight of the latest IdeaPad Flex 5 14 is clearly its AMD CPU. The octa-core Ryzen 7 5700U is insanely fast even when compared to the best Tiger Lake Ultrabooks in the market or even Core H CPUs in many gaming laptops. It's a lot of raw processing power for what is supposed to be a budget 14-inch convertible. If your daily workloads can benefit from extra multi-thread CPU performance, then look no further than the inexpensive AMD-powered Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 14. For regular on-the-road browsing or video streaming, however, a slimmer and lighter 10th gen Core Yoga, Spectre, or XPS would be a more balanced option."
