Considering your interest in the Dell G15 5520 which is on the higher end of price compared to the HP Pavilion 15, it's important to note that the Dell offers significantly superior gaming and engineering performance with its Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics card and a powerful Intel i7 processor, as opposed to the more modest Intel UHD graphics and i3 processor on the HP. If your work or entertainment requires intensive computation or high-end gaming, the Dell will shine. However, if you prioritize value and your laptop needs center around general use like browsing, office work, or streaming, the HP provides a more budget-friendly option with adequate performance for those tasks. The HP is lighter making it more portable, but the Dell has a higher quality display and a better build, which adds to its weight. Keep in mind that battery life could be shorter on the Dell due to its powerful hardware. Give Feedback

Rtings

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."

TechRadar

Alex Cox | August 2022
"The HP Pavilion 15 carries a fair amount of power and a sharp display in its handsome slimline shell. It's not perfect, but it's a hard worker. This is wonderfully designed and totes a heck of a lot of desktop power, with the added benefit of a decent webcam and a full-sized keyboard. If you're getting down to business on a budget, it's a great fit."
