The Dell G15 5520, although more expensive, is equipped for intensive gaming with a high-end processor and graphics card, offering a faster refresh rate screen suitable for fast action visuals. The HP Envy x360 15 is less expensive and has a touchscreen, making it a more budget-friendly choice for general use and productivity tasks but isn't tailored for heavy gaming or high-performance tasks. The Dell is heavier and might be less convenient to carry compared to the lighter HP Envy, which offers a balance between portability and performance for everyday use. Give Feedback

The Dell G15 5520 and HP Envy x360 15" are both good for general use, though the Dell G15 5520 is somewhat better.
The Dell G15 5520, with a strong CPU and ample RAM, handles demanding tasks smoothly and offers a high-quality screen, but it is less portable and has shorter battery life, which may not suit users often on the move. The Dell G15 5520 has a better screen than the HP Envy x360 15" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Dell G15 5520's screen has the resolution and brightness suitable for everyday tasks and detailed engineering work but lacks the high refresh rate needed for smooth visuals in gaming and 3D applications. The HP Envy x360 15" offers a balanced screen performance for both daily and professional engineering uses, but like the Dell, it falls short for gaming due to an average refresh rate. Both laptops might not fully satisfy gamers or professionals in 3D fields who often prioritize screens with quick refresh rates to match the fast-paced visuals of their applications.

How the Dell G15 5520 and the HP Envy x360 15" compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."
"Despite its good looks, stellar webcam and comfortable keyboard, the Envy x360 15 is hard to recommend because of its dim, 16:9 display. If the display isn't an issue for you, just be sure to wait for a good sale price. Otherwise, a more modern two-in-one with a 16:10 display such as the Dell Inspiron 16 2-in-1 or Lenovo Yoga 7i 16 provides a larger workspace without adding much to the size and weight of the system."
