The Dell G15 5520 offers a solid balance between performance and price, making it suitable for everyday use and moderate gaming or engineering tasks. It has reliable battery life, though it's not the lightest option for carrying around. On the other hand, the Gigabyte G5 leans more towards gaming performance with a dedicated graphics card, which can also benefit 3D modeling and video editing, but this might come at the cost of shorter battery life and additional weight. If mobility and long battery life are important, the Dell might be the better choice, but if raw performance for gaming or content creation is a priority, consider the Gigabyte G5. Give Feedback

The Dell G15 5520 has a better screen than the Gigabyte G5 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
When considering the Dell G15 5520 for general use, its good screen quality stems from a balance of appropriate resolution, brightness, and panel type that offers clear and vivid images for everyday tasks. For engineering and design work, this laptop's display supports a wide range of colors with decent coverage of professional color gamuts, which ensures that the visuals are accurate and detailed, a critical aspect for these fields. However, for gaming and 3D applications, the Dell's lower refresh rate may result in less fluid motion and responsiveness, which is less ideal compared to screens with higher refresh rates.

How the Dell G15 5520 and the Gigabyte G5 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."
"The Gigabyte G5 KE is a midrange gaming laptop that checks most boxes. Gigabyte makes good use of the Core i5-12500H and RTX 3060 Laptop GPU combo, and we find no untoward issues with overall performance. The dual-fan quad-heatpipe cooling arrangement does well to ensure that the underlying hardware doesn't throttle under load. That being said, the display is below par when compared to 2023 standards, especially when competing devices."
