The Dell G15 5520 is less expensive than the Gigabyte Aorus 15X and has a high refresh rate display, making it a good choice for gaming. However, the Aorus 15X has a more powerful processor and graphics card, as well as a higher resolution and brighter display, which is better for 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering tasks. It also has a longer battery life and a slightly higher portability score. While both have keyboards with number pads and are backlit, the Aorus 15X offers customizable RGB lighting. If budget is a concern and you primarily game, the Dell may suit you; for demanding tasks and longer unplugged use, consider the Aorus 15X despite the higher price. Give Feedback

The Gigabyte Aorus 15X is very good for gaming and AI, while the Dell G15 5520 is good.
The Gigabyte Aorus 15X outshines the Dell G15 5520 in gaming and 3D performance, mainly due to its superior Nvidia RTX 4070 GPU, which is more powerful than the RTX 3060 in the Dell, and the Aorus 15X also boasts a higher screen refresh rate which is better for smooth gameplay. Additionally, while both have quality screens and capable CPUs, the Aorus 15X's screen has a higher resolution, and its CPU is a higher-tier model, which provides better overall performance for gaming and 3D tasks.

The Gigabyte Aorus 15X has a better screen than the Dell G15 5520 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Dell G15 5520 likely has a balance of resolution and brightness that makes its screen appealing to general users, and sufficient color gamut coverage to satisfy most engineering and design professionals; however, its lower refresh rate could be a drawback for gaming and 3D applications where fluid motion is key. The Gigabyte Aorus 15X, with a screen that excels in brightness and resolution, offers a crisp and vibrant display for everyday tasks and is also strong in color reproduction for creative work, but similarly falls short for gamers and 3D developers due to an inadequate refresh rate. Users who prioritize general use and professional design work will find both screens suitable, but those who need a laptop mainly for gaming or 3D work should consider alternatives focused on higher refresh rates.

How the Dell G15 5520 and the Gigabyte Aorus 15X compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."
"The Gigabyte Aorus 15X is a strong showing of Raptor Lake and RTX 4000 series. While the Aorus had trouble keeping up in older games like Grand Theft Auto V, it nudged past the competition in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It also flexed its next-generation muscle in Far Cry 6 and Borderlands 3. While we were impressed with the overall build quality and design of the Aorus 15X, the keyboard lacked good tactile feedback. The display performed well in real-world testing despite its on-paper shortcoming with brightness, but the speakers are lackluster at best."
