The Dell G15 5520 is somewhat more expensive but offers more storage than the Gigabyte A5. Both have the same amount of RAM and a powerful graphics card, making them suitable for gaming and intensive tasks, but the Dell has a higher refresh rate display suitable for fast-paced games. Conversely, if you favor slightly better portability and a lower price, the Gigabyte A5 stands out. Additionally, if screen color accuracy is a priority, the Gigabyte has better coverage in color space areas. Both are equipped with Windows 11 Home, have similar sized screens, and offer comparable battery life. Give Feedback

The Dell G15 5520 and Gigabyte A5 are both good for general use, though the Dell G15 5520 is somewhat better.
The Dell G15 5520 is equipped with a solid CPU and an ample amount of RAM, which along with an IPS screen of decent resolution and size, makes it suitable for general use; its heavier weight and lower battery life, when compared to the Gigabyte A5, however, makes the latter more portable. The Gigabyte A5 also has good CPU, sufficient RAM, and a similar IPS display, and it offers better screen brightness and color coverage, enhancing the user experience, but its smaller storage capacity could be limiting for users with extensive data needs.

The Dell G15 5520 is very good for engineering and design, while the Gigabyte A5 is good.
The Dell G15 5520 stands out for engineering and design due to its superior Intel i7 processor and larger storage capacity, enhancing performance and data handling, while the Gigabyte A5, though still capable with its AMD Ryzen 5 CPU, offers less storage. Both laptops come equipped with equivalent RAM and identical GPUs, supporting demanding tasks, but the Dell's higher screen refresh rate and the Gigabyte's slightly superior screen brightness and color coverage show tradeoffs in screen quality, impacting visual work and personal preference.

The Dell G15 5520 has a better screen than the Gigabyte A5 for software development, and content creation, while the Gigabyte A5 has a better screen for general use, and engineering and design.
For general use, a laptop with a sharp resolution, adequate brightness levels, and a panel type that offers wide viewing angles ensures crisp text and vibrant images, which both the Dell G15 5520 and Gigabyte A5 provide. In engineering and design, accurate color representation is key; thus, laptops that cover a wide range of the color gamut offer more precise visuals, and it appears that both these models deliver on this need. However, for gaming and 3D applications, where smooth motion is crucial, a high refresh rate is imperative for fluid motion and responsiveness; the Dell and Gigabyte may fall short in this aspect due to lower refresh rates.

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."
"Ignoring price, the Gigabyte A5 has a hard time against the similarly fast competition. Besides the loud noise in 3D mode (performance mode), the high temperature development of the components should be mentioned on the downside. Despite the relatively thick case, the laptop gets very warm and loud under load, which does not exactly speak for the cooling system. The plastic surfaces look rather cheap and also tend to rattle. In most other disciplines - be it the input devices, the screen, the connectivity or the battery runtime - the Gigabyte laptop does not stand out from the crowd, neither positively nor negatively. However, those who primarily pay attention to the price-performance ratio will get a pretty good offer with the Gigabyte A5."
