If you prize portability and are focused on general use like web browsing and document editing, the Framework Laptop 13, with its lighter weight and longer battery life, would serve you well. On the other hand, if your priority is performance for gaming or engineering tasks like 3D rendering or machine learning, the Dell G15 with its dedicated graphics card is a stronger option. However, the Dell is heavier, making it less convenient for travel. Both laptops are similarly priced and neither is ideal for intensive gaming, but the Dell's specs give it an edge for more demanding applications. Give Feedback

How the Dell G15 5520 and the Framework Laptop 13 (2023) compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."
"If you’re thinking of investing in your first Framework, now is the time. The kinks and rough edges have all been smoothed out and this is a very nice machine with a bright, upgradable future. The only reason I can think of to wait is the AMD model, which I’ll be sure to test as soon as I can get my hands on one."
