The Dell G15 5520 is often significantly less expensive than the Eluktronics Mech-15 G3R and may suit your needs for general use, including some gaming, with decent performance and a good balance of features for the price. However, if you're seeking higher performance for tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, or more intensive gaming, and you're willing to pay a premium price, the Eluktronics Mech-15 G3R could be worth the investment. It offers a higher-end GPU, better screen resolution, and a higher refresh rate, which can enhance visual experiences and task execution. Both laptops have similar battery life, but the Mech-15 G3R is lighter, offering slightly better portability. Keep in mind the Dell G15 is heavier and may not be as convenient for on-the-go usage. The Eluktronics Mech-15 G3R and Dell G15 5520 are both very good for engineering and design, though the Eluktronics Mech-15 G3R is somewhat better.
The Dell G15 5520, equipped with a high-performance i7 processor, dedicated RTX 3060 graphics, and a full HD screen, makes it a robust choice for engineering tasks; yet, it may be less suitable for on-the-go use due to its size and weight. On the other hand, the Eluktronics Mech-15 G3R also offers a powerful i7 CPU and superior RTX 3070 Ti graphics, along with a higher resolution display, enhancing detail and workspace, but at the cost of increased size and potentially being less portable and louder under heavy loads.

The Eluktronics Mech-15 G3R has a better screen than the Dell G15 5520 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the Dell G15's decent resolution and brightness offer a comfortable viewing experience suitable for everyday tasks, while the Eluktronics Mech-15's higher brightness and resolution provide a sharper and more vibrant display, enhancing every interaction. In engineering and design, professionals rely on accurate color representation, where the Mech-15's superior coverage of DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB color gamuts ensures more precise color work compared to the Dell G15. However, for gaming and 3D applications, the lower refresh rates on both the Dell G15 and the Mech-15 can lead to less fluid motion and a less immersive experience, despite their adequate resolution and panel type.

How the Dell G15 5520 and the Eluktronics Mech-15 G3R compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."
"Everything considered, the XMG Neo 15 (Mech-15 G3R) with RTX 3070 Ti is a great gaming performer. The combination of the Ti graphics card with the new Intel 12th gen CPU is enough to go toe-to-toe, and even slightly pull ahead of the RTX 3080 in most titles, though on games with Ray-Tracing enabled, particularly with graphics set to the maximum and on higher resolutions, the additional VRAM of the RTX 3080 makes a big impact, and the 8GB RTX 3070 Ti machine simply can’t compete, even with the more powerful processor."
